This pioneering project is based on an idea as simple as it is ingenious:
using elephants' natural aversion to bees by installing beehive fences around villages,
thus preventing conflicts between pachyderms and local communities, while supporting biodiversity.

WHAT IS IT?
This project, powered by the SAVE THE ELEPHANTS foundation, is innovative in that it enables the construction of bee fences, protecting African farms from elephant damage. This safeguards farmers from elephant incursions and, in turn, protects elephants themselves from humans who hunt them. The project also aims to raise funds to equip villagers with tools for honey harvesting.

WHAT IS ITS PURPOSE?
Thanks to the proceeds, Artypopart will be able to support this project, located next to the Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique with its exceptional biodiversity. This support will aid communities in difficulty living near the park's border. This project was formed at the Tsavo Elephants and Bees Research Centre. It will allow for the construction of a series of beehive fences that will produce honey starting in May, providing additional income for villagers. Artypopart hopes to provide valuable long-term assistance to this project.

HOW?
The project originated from an innovative study using a deep understanding of elephant behavior. To reduce damage caused by destructive elephants, it harnesses their instinctive fear of African bees. The project explores the use of beehives as a natural elephant deterrent, creating social and economic stimulation in poverty-stricken rural communities through pollination services and the sustainable harvesting of "elephant-friendly honey."
